Analysis of Today's Events 1 September 2008

Normally any day can be broken into the good, the bad, and the ugly. Today is a bit different. It can be broken into the good and the ugly. The good was the response, leadership, coordination, and command of the hurricane situation in New Orleans and the southern states in general. Gov. Bobby Jindal my hat is off to you. Likewise, it took great leadership and class to execute things the way the Republicans have, and my hat is off to them also. But enough about that, I'm fired up about something else.

I was gone for about 4 hours this afternoon. Right before I left the story about Sarah Palin's daughter was breaking across the news media outlets. Both on the Internet and on live television this was playing out. But I guess since it was during the Hurricane they weren't "totally" focused on it. When I returned, I flipped from Fox, to CNN, to MSNBC, to BBC and you guessed it; it was everywhere. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is absolutely shameful.

First and for most she is a minor. If she had robbed a store her record would have been confidential, but for this she is being lambasted across network news by every talking head from one end of the country to the other. Second, ever since the day Sarah Palin was nominated as the Vice Presidential Candidate, people across America and the Internet have been searching for anything on her. The most I have seen is her in a humorous tshirt from college. But that's the problem, for everything Ive seen, she is a very classy lady. So instead of sticking to her, now they are going after her children and husband.

First off that's just shameful. Second, my question for these people is why? What has enraged you the most about her? The fact that she is a normal everyday person that has shown considerable leadership and executive ability? That she is a regular person who hunts and fishes and has a son who enlisted an an Infantrymen to serve his country in Iraq? I would ask how many of our Nation's leaders have children on active duty serving on the front line as an Infantrymen or for that matter serving at all?

I am absolutely ashamed right now that this is happening. If you cant tell I'm very angry also. It takes a lot to fire me up, but once I am, I am. Some of the things that really fire me up are dishonesty and attacking children. These stories have shown both. To the Palin Family, I am sorry that these peddlers of filth have done this to you.

God Bless America and may he be with the Gulf Coast Residents and the Palin Family right now.
